Shooting data: Canon EOS 40D Canon EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM + 30mm Extention tube 0.1 sec (1/10) F/8.0 | ISO :400 Canon speedlite 580 Ex II @ 1/64

Part I the collision: 2 drops are released w some millisecond of distance to make the second crash with the first one that have bounced off the water's surface.

Part II the flash: strocsopic mode What you see are 4 sequences : the second drop falling, the same hitting the first drop, the "hat""umbrella" expanding and finally falling down in the water

This is a crop, the original can be seen here:

hi julian
this is as good as i have ever seen of this kind of image!
very impressive and clearly a work of art!
perhaps many on this forum or indeed the rules of the forum will question the nature?....but in my opinion the quality of this shot is truly sublime!!!!!!!!!.....................keep posting!

P.S what do you use in the water?, different coloued dyes?, milk?, aspic?, thickening agents?.....

Thanks 4 clear it up, I'm also in the italian part of the forum, but this photo belong here since the inspiration came from a photo of here: Fly Lounch of /Morfa (I think :D )

In this pic is just milk thrown in water coloured w violet ink.(didn't have dyes:) Sometimes I add dish cleaner 4 lower the surface tensionof water and get this shapes:

Other times whatever liquid stuff i find :|
Generally colours are added w the flash.
