Shooting data: Canon 7D Canon 100 Macro USM + Raynox DCR 250&150, tripod, rails, 5 shots stack

A very amusing, really small (about 5 mm) fly from family Pipunculidae.

Let me get this straight. . .you used Raynox 250 & 150 supplementary lenses stacked together on the front of a Canon 100mm macro lens with the camera attached to a focus rail with the whole kit and kaboodle mounted on a tripod and then managed a 5 shot focus stack of this stantionary and beautiful fly that looks like it's wearing a kevlar combat helmet?
A mighty fine effort indeed and I really like the natural light and diagonal composition. . . .top effort.

TheBat - you've made it sound much more complicated than it really is :) In addition, I think that shooting tiny seaslugs underwater is a much more difficult stuff.
Thanks for viewing guys!

Weird! Looks like he's set for a mission to mars. Super image of a strange subject!

A great shot of this facinating little insect. As Bruce points its quite an achievement. It's all very good with lovely lighting, very good detail and a very pleasing composition.
