Shooting data: Nikon D700; Sigma 300-800 mm op 500 mm; iso 800; f6.3; 1/200 sec; +2/3

Last week I went back to former Eastern Germany in the hope to photograph White Tailes Eagles in winter conditions. Well those conditions were there. Minus 17 degrees on my first day is, I think, ccccold. It starts snowing in the night and did not stop for two whole days. Perfect!
On the second day I was lucky to meet this adult eagle who landed just five meters before my hide. What a moment, what a bird, what a day and what an end of a year!

Wow what a great shot, I think the pose and detail are superb. The image is so good I hesitate but would agree with me - I think the image needs a little "pop" i.e. more contrast, I have done this using Image >Adjustments>Selective Color >Blacks >Blacks3; Neutrals>Blacks 2and I think it enhances the image.
